Loro Piana is an Italian company specializing in exclusive, luxury clothing and textile products.
The brand is considered one of the largest cashmere processors and prides itself on using some of the rarest materials the world has to offer – cashmere from northern China and Mongolian goat kids, Vicuña from the Andes, extra-fine Merino wool from Australia and New Zealand, and lotus flower fiber from Myanmar.
In 1924, Pietro Loro Piana founded the business Ing. Loro Piana & C., which still exists today as part of the LVMH luxury goods group.
Pietro's nephew, Franco, took over the business in 1941, and after the war, he began to build its reputation as a supplier of premium wool and cashmere to the haute couture fashion industry, both domestically and internationally. In the 1970s, Sergio and Pier Luigi Loro Piana took the reins of the business, diversifying it into luxury goods and developing its retail arm.
The company has three divisions: the textile division – producing high-quality textiles using noble fibers such as cashmere, vicuña wool, and merino wool; the luxury fashion items division – producing and distributing clothing for men, women, shoes, and accessories; the interior division – producing and distributing interior products.
In 2013, the LVMH Group acquired an 80% stake in Loro Piana, becoming the majority shareholder. In 2017, the LVMH group acquired an additional 5% of shares in the company.
Since 2022, Loro Piana has established its headquarters at Cortile della Seta in the Brera district of Milan.
Ermenegildo Zegna is a famous fabric brand in the men's tailoring industry and began its activity in 1910 in Trivero, Italy, with the dream of creating the most beautiful fabrics in the world. Currently, the company is run by the third generation and continues to innovate the world of luxury fabrics with modernity.
From the beginning, Zegna had an international vision for the entire fabric business. Thus, the primary innovation of this brand was obtaining the highest quality natural fibers directly from their countries of origin, which were then imported to Italy, processed, and crafted for export, while simultaneously promoting the Zegna brand worldwide.
The brand's founder understood that the beauty of the natural environment and the well-being of people were indispensable for a company aspiring to long-term success, and the Zegna family has kept alive the idea that product quality can only flourish when there is a "culture of beauty."
Zegna continues the honor of the founder's legacy by adhering to three principles: setting long-term goals, maintaining family ownership to ensure continuity, and constantly adapting to the needs of the modern consumer.
